FAQ-1: Is the Mini-Ovulation Microscope accurate?
When used and interpreted correctly, it is a highly accurate and effective method for determining the time of ovulation. The technique has been used in medical testing laboratories for over 10 years. (Note: certain disease or hormone conditions may affect the results. See your doctor if you have a specific medical condition).
FAQ-2: What is the best time to use MOM?
The best time is in the morning before brushing the teeth, eating or drinking. Certain factors such as food, alcohol or smoking may negatively affect the analysis of saliva. Therefore, we recommend not eating or drinking anything before the test.
FAQ-3: Are there any side effects?
Absolutely not! MOM is completely natural, uses no chemicals and does not interfere with the body’s natural processes.
FAQ-4: My cycle is irregular...Can I use MOM?
Yes. No one is more familiar with your monthly cycle than you are. Fertility cycles average 28 days, but can be much shorter or longer. MOM can help you determine the time you are ovulating whether or not you are regular.
FAQ-5: What happens if there is no picture available?
The light is not turned on or the installed batteries are dead. Push on the light button, if you still do not see anything replace the two SR-44 batteries.
FAQ-6: Why is the picture unclear?
There may be several reasons: 1) Too much saliva has been applied and not dried yet (allow several more minutes for the drying/crystallization process to end); 2) The picture has not been focused or the diopter has not been adjusted (simply sharpen and adjust the picture); 3) While applying the saliva, the glass has been pressed hard with your finger and consequently your saliva has been pressed out (clean the optic lens and reapply saliva gently to the lens surface, taking care to avoid leaving any air bubbles).
FAQ-7: What happens if I am already pregnant?
In most cases, the reading will show only a dotted (unfertile) picture.
FAQ-8: Is the picture affected by an oral or gynecologic infection?
It may be. Certain types of infections and diseases may affect the saliva crystalline structure.
FAQ-9: How long is the battery life?
The batteries included will last up to 15 years on average. Simple instructions included with the product explain how to replace them when necessary.
FAQ-10: Besides planning for a baby, what can I use MaybeMOM for?
To track your daily fertile and infertile days.
FAQ-11: Why do I see different results during the day?
You should not be testing your saliva during the day. As your instruction booklet suggests, please test in the morning only, before you drink, eat or brush your teeth. In other words, your saliva should be undisturbed by other elements for most accurate results. Food and drinks change the content of the saliva and it may cause misleading results. So, please remember to test only first thing in the morning.
FAQ-12 Why does MaybeMOM cost more than other saliva testers sold online? Is there really any difference?
- A 3-layer plate-polished glass optical lens (the same as used in a medical lab or ob/gyn's office). Other products have a plastic lens that can scratch and provide misleading results.
- A patented focus device that provides optimal 52 times magnification, with the ability to focus +/- 5 diopter for best clarity of results. Other products claim various focus power (some up to 100x), but research shows that MaybeMOM's focus ability is the optimum strength and focus power to achieve crystal clear viewing results.

- A green backlight, a "clean" light which provides for best contrast and resolution of viewing results. Other testers use "dirty" yellow light that can cause a misleading result.
- A lifetime, quality replacement guarantee against manufacturer's defects. Others have a one-year useful life and warranty.
- Proven 98% accuracy for your peace of mind. Only MaybeMOM has clinical studies from Europe and the United States proving its accuracy. This is a fact backed by the FDA, which has granted MaybeMOM 510(k) clearance based on its clinical studies. No other saliva fertility microscope has this level of certification.
FAQ-13: The light on the device is not turning on. What should I do?
The light system is designed for a long-term use. - Carefully pull out the light system mechanism.
- Very carefully pull out the plastic piece on the lighting mechanism. Make sure not to rip the wire!

- Clean batteries with rubbing alcohol, dry with a cloth and put batteries back, plus sign down.
- Reassemble the device by putting the light system back in the body of the device.
